Introduction

Welcome to the CIFFA - ViaSafe ACI website. Since 19 April 2004, maritime shippers and cargo forwarders have been required to submit detailed electronic manifest reports to Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA). Those manifest reports must detail the contents of every foreign commercial cargo shipment arriving in Canada, under the Advance Commercial Information (ACI) initiative. Now CIFFA – ViaSafe have added the phase 2 Air ACI feature. ACI Insta-Connect is a service provided by ViaSafe, CIFFA’s technology partner. ViaSafe is facilitating more than 40% of all import traffic into Canada.

Insta-Connect

ACI Insta-Connect is a web portal designed to aid the freight forwarder community with new Advanced Commercial Information (ACI) reporting requirements. Through CIFFA’s website, international and domestic freight forwarders and their agents can gain access to a simple, easy to use web tool to submit ACI data as required by the Canadian Border Security Agency (CBSA).

Costs

ACI Insta-Connect is a subscription based service. The registration costs for this service is CAD $75. There is a monthly fee of
CAD $25.00 which covers five transactions. For each additional transaction a fee of CAD $0.95 will be charged.

Additional Choices

In addition to the CIFFA Web Portal service, ViaSafe offers ViaTrade ACI/AMS Corporate service, a complete and integrated ACI/AMS solution, that combines back-end integration with your corporate database tied to Web-based access for foreign agents. ACI Insta-Connect will also provide complete connectivity to US customs AMS for Sea and Air system.
